INGREDIENTS

Blue Cheese & Broccoli Egg Tart

  • 1/4 small onion
  • 1/4 clove garlic
  • 1 large whole egg
  • 90 milliliters (3 fluid ounces) skimmed milk
  • 50 grams (1.8 ounces) blue cheese
  • 75 grams (1 cup) broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to season as desired
  • Black pepper to season as desired

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (364 degrees Fahrenheit / Gas Mark 4).
  2. Finely chop the onion.
  3. Mince the garlic
  4. Roughly chop the broccoli florets.
  5. Thoroughly combine the egg and milk together; season with salt and pepper.

COOKING

  1. Preheat a large saucepan over medium heat with the olive oil.
  2. Add the onions, garlic, and broccoli, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking until soft.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to personal taste.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into a baking dish (12.5 cm wide X 3 cm deep / 5” wide X 1.2” deep).
  5. Gently pour the egg and milk over the broccoli mix until the baking dish is almost full.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the center has set.
