INGREDIENTS

Balsamic Tomatoes and Basal Salad

  • 500 grams (2 ½ cup) tomatoes
  • 1 small red onion
  • 20 grams (1 cup) fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt to season as desired
  • Ground black pepper to season as desired

PREPARATION

  1. Roughly chop the tomatoes into eighths, and place into a large bowl.
  2. Thinly slice the red onion and add to the bowl.
  3. Add the olive oil and vinegar to the tomatoes and onion.
  4. Toss gently to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cover and let stand in a refrigerator for 1-2 hours to develop flavor.
  7. Roughly chop the basil and combine with tomatoes before serving.
